In 2016, an old building once owned by the rolling paper company, Bambu, got a new resident. After 10+ years of independent design work, Javier Moreno founded a new studio. Inspired by his design philosophy steeped in honored legacy, Javier chose the name, Bambu Studio. Since then, we’ve witnessed Javier lead collaborations with brands and clients across the globe – all from his small hometown of Alcoy, Spain. Inspired by familiar shapes with a Nordic sensibility, Bambu Studio cuts out the noise to produce effortless products designed with real people in mind. From furniture and home goods to lighting and kitchen products, Bambu consistently celebrates curvature. Every project reflects a careful study of the soft, gentle shapes that make us human.

What problem were you trying to solve with Cloche?
In a world where almost all our comforts are digital, we wanted to give people a physical thing they could turn to for warmth and familiarity. Cloche will inspire you to shut off your phone and spend quality time with your loved ones.
How did your design philosophy inspire this collection?
We're always inspired by familiar, soft shapes and Cloche is no different. In every project we want to cut out the noise to deliver something with real people in mind. Cloche's curves deliver a gentle contrast to the endless harsh lines around us.
Where do you see Bambu heading in the future?
Hopefully traveling. We've been so inspired by combing a Nordic energy with our Spanish roots. We'd like to explore what else is out there.
