You’re known for infusing a sense of humanity into your work. How did you consider that when designing Kobble Collection?
This collection shares the human-friendly shape language of my design sensibility – I used soft edges because the human form is soft. They are more than just lights, they are statement pieces that function as companions to the owner’s lifestyle and tastes.
Who do you see as the ideal owner of a Kobble light?
Someone who appreciates personality and high-performance. These pieces are minimal, functional, and purposeful so anyone who proudly uses contemporary objects in everyday life would love this collection.
The name “Kobble” was a play on cobblestone. Can you speak to that connection?
Cobblestone is a soft form that is universal – it feels at home anywhere just like the Kobble lights. I love geological forms that appeal to our senses. I see this collection as a reflection of sensual minimalism – the ergonomic character that makes lighting inviting and comfortable.
