Making products that matter.
Ammunition is a studio dedicated to putting design talent at the center of imagining, creating, and operating new product and service ventures. Founded in 2007 and based in San Francisco, California and Brooklyn, New York, the studio is led by partners Robert Brunner and Matt Rolandson. Ammunition places entrepreneurs in close contact with a thirty-person team of designers with expertise in physical and digital product design, service design, brand identity, user experience, graphic design, and packaging. Winner of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Product Design, the studio has been named one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies in Design” five times.

There was an immediate alignment around optimism and possibility. Gantri brought a deeply innovative manufacturing platform; Ammunition brought a strong emotional and human-centered design lens. It never felt transactional. It felt like two teams genuinely trying to redefine what modern lighting could feel like: softer, warmer, more personal, and more responsible.
We started by asking what wireless lighting actually needed to be, not just cordless, but truly free. That meant designing Helia as a shared technological core that any lighting form could grow from, and treating the charging puck as part of the experience rather than an afterthought. The families each have their own character, but they all belong to the same world. That coherence requires holding the system and the details in mind at the same time.
Effortless, but not invisible. We want people to notice the light, the warmth of it, the way it changes a room, without ever thinking about the technology behind it. That applies whether you’re at home or running a restaurant with twenty tables to set every night. The ideal moment is picking up a lamp and moving it somewhere else because the mood calls for it. The system is designed to make that easy to manage at any scale: one puck on a bedside table, or a charging tray backstage keeping an entire hospitality fleet ready to go. When it all works, light stops being a fixture and starts feeling like something you have a relationship with.
For Gantri, this platform opens a new chapter of wireless lighting that can grow and evolve without starting over each time. For Ammunition, it’s a reminder of what happens when manufacturing ambition and design ambition find each other. The most exciting thing about this collection isn’t what it is today. It’s what it makes possible next.
